As an experienced executive and integrated marketing and communications leader with more than 25 years within corporate America and several start-ups, I have mentored and coached from subordinate staff to C-level executives. One of the things I enjoyed most about working with, and managing, a team was discovering the individuals. By taking an individualized approach, I was able to guide each to achieve goals that they may have even thought were out of their reach. Taking the time to understand people as individuals and not managing from a one-size-fits-all approach, I have had staff achieve recognition rewards, go onto do things they never dreamed of, a stronger sense of self-confidence, and stand prouder and brighter in their being.
Creating and working on Executive Committees of start-up organizations was another part of coaching that I really enjoyed. Working together to identify business strategy, along with plans to implement and execute is something I geek out on. While many firms or small businesses can put together strategies that look fantastic on paper, the reason things tend to fall is apart is more often than not due to execution (otherwise known as failure to launch). Leadership Coaches provide a layer of accountability to the process and execution.
So why do I a Coach? I have been a mentor and coach for a majority of career, worked with coaches, participated in coaching courses and retreats, received certifications, worked as an internal corporate coach to subordinate staff, CEOs and other C-level staff, and my life purpose is to help guide others to become the best version of themselves.
If we're going to plant the seeds to grow, let's grow something amazing!
The mission is to come home to ourselves. It's to find peace in our thoughts. To find people who will do the healing work with us. The mission is to see all of ourselves and to have the courage to move it into the light and trust that the right people will join us there. The mission is to forgive the others who created the wounding or contributed to it. And to take responsibility for moving through it and transforming it into service for self and others. ~ Vienna Pharaon
Committing to yourself is just that – a commitment, and it’s a big one that will take a lot a dedication. My commitment is to provide you with accountability, understanding and support. You deserve to shine! Make time to make a difference!
"Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximize their own performance. It’s helping them to learn rather than teaching them.”
– Timothy Gallwey
"Each person holds so much power within themselves that needs to be let out. Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching, and the greatest things can happen.”
– Pete Carroll
"Psychologists have the most training of any profession in understanding human motivation, behavior, learning and change, and if they’ve done clinical work, they have a depth of one-on-one experience far greater than that of people who aren’t mental health professionals. Coaching is actually a great fit with what most of us [psychologists] already do.”
– Jeffrey E. Auerbach
Life coaching is generally predicated on the belief that a person has the solutions to their most pressing questions and challenges within themselves, and the role of the coach is to help the client uncover these solutions. Through asking the right questions, providing insight and an objective perspective, and serving as a source of accountability, coaches help people remove their personal obstacles in order to reach their true potential.
A couple of years ago, coaching was essentially split into two categories:
Life coaches would deal with clients wanting to enhance an aspect of their personal lives. Business coaches, drawing on their own corporate experience, would offer guidance and insight to clients looking for a change or improvement of their work performance. Whether you are wanting to focus on your professional or person life, understand that they are both strongly intertwined.
A life coach can support you in finding and staying on your path. A life coach is your confidant that listens, provides real feedback, and holds you accountable. A good example is it is like having a fitness coach that plans out an agreed result focused fitness and / or nutrition program and holds you accountable to show up and follow through on program. to achieve your desired results. YOU have to do the work in order to achieve results. Like physical fitness, there is no magic pill to make life or the rough patches easier. By building a relationship with my clients, I can help you stay motivated and on-task, helping you move toward your long term far-reaching goals.
As mentioned in PositivePsychology.com, studies show that coaching:
Every client jointly signs a commitment contract with their life coach. I set the terms of the commitment contract to fit your individual goals and plans.
The first step is to schedule an introductory consultation session. In that session, we will get an idea of how well we work together and what our next steps should be from there.
